Hey Guys, my name is Kris Baines. I understand you may want to find out a bit about me before reading on – if so please click here to read my testimony/background.
Here is a bit more info about the specific nature of The Psalm 12:1 Project….
The Psalm 12:1 Project
This ministry came into being after a long period of being burdened by something I will call “The Psalm 12:1 problem”. In Psalm 12:1, King David writes…
“Help, Lord, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men.”
(Psalm 12:1, NKJV)
The problem David saw in his day – a lack of godly and faithful men – is a problem I believe we are seeing increasingly in our day. There is only one solution, and that is YOU! We can see a restoration of Biblical Manhood in our generation, one man at a time, if we take our calling and responsibility seriously as men of God.
Guys, let me put it as simply as I can…..
As Christian men, we have a God-given calling and responsibility to fulfil. Too easily we get distracted from this, and make foolish choices that cause us to lose precious time and opportunity. We need to know the will of God for our lives, and walk in it – the consequences are too great if we don’t.
“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” (Ephesians 5:15-17, NKJV)
A knowledge, understanding and application of God’s Word specifically to our lives, in reliance upon the Holy Spirit is the only means by which we can do God’s will, being who God has called us to be, and doing what God has called us to do.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17, NKJV)
“A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; He rages against all wise judgment.” (Proverbs 18:1, NKJV)
“As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” (Proverbs 27:17, NKJV)
I write these things as man who has weaknesses and character flaws, and I need to depend upon the Lord, and the encouragement and example of other men just as much as anyone.
At my home church, Redemption Church, I serve as a pastor/elder. Our church has a primary focus of discipling men to be strong in their faith, leading to strong families and strong churches. It is a privilege for me to have men around me who desire to follow Christ, and who encourage me to fulfil God’s will for my life as a man.
Please understand that the whole purpose of setting up this ministry and making this website available to you, is to encourage you to DO NOW (during your time on earth) – WHAT YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID THEN (when you stand before God in heaven).
If the content on this website helps you to walk closer to the Lord here on earth, and bear more fruit in eternity, I will be eternally thankful to the Lord.
