DISKYPELSHIP CLASSES FOR TERM 2 NOW OPEN FOR REGISTRATION!

bottles-bricks-close-up-748777_12What are “DISKYPELSHIP” Classes?

DISKYPELSHIP classes (notice the play on words!) are classes offered online, using SKYPE (popular software that allows group video calling) . This allows homeschooling students to receive biblical teaching and instruction, without the limitations of location/distance. Eternal Purpose Ministries began the firstDISKYPELSHIP classes in Term 1 of 2018, and the feedback has been great so far. With more interest in the classes from homeschooling families around NZ – we can now offer a broader range of classes from Term 2 onwards (see class options on the right). Classes are available for students age 15-18 (please enquire if your child is just outside these ages). Families who register before 31 March 2018 will receive a donations rebate on any donations towards class costs.

A Family of Friends

A video interview via SKYPE with Kieron McGhie from the UK – exclusively recorded for ENGAGE 2016. Kieron used to live in NZ and homeschooled 3 of his 4 children here. In this interview Kieron shares the fruit he and his family have experienced, as a result of trusting God’s wisdom, over the wisdom of man. Being very transparent and real, Kieron’s words will be a great encouragement to home educating parents, particularly those who got saved later on in life, and those who are experiencing the challenges of building good relationships with their children. We hope you are blessed by the interview.

Let’s Keep Chivalry Alive…

imageCheck out this article, and see the strong distain for any form of chivalry displayed from a man towards a womanhttp://www.stuff.co.nz/life-style/love-sex/77342344/chivalry-turns-women-sexist-according-to-survey.

According to the author,  because I desire to cherish my wife, protect her and provide for her, I am guilty of both “benevolent sexism” and “active sexism”. Notice the normalising of certain ideas in the article, i.e feminism is universaly right and praise and kind words towards women are wrong if we think they are actually “needed”. Increasingly in our society (and sadly in the church!) there is a huge misunderstanding, thinking that for a man to be “manly” means he is brutish and belittling, and for a women to be feminine means that she cannot also be strong, capable, and an inedpendant thinker. Chivalry is the world’s term. yet a noble one. Even greater than chivalry, is agape love, and that is a Biblical term. Men, let us fight to keep chivalry alive in our generation, regardless of the hostile voice of society that writes us off as sexist.

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1-2)
